Zelma Irene (Waymon) Russell, 94, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Roby Waymon and Cora Ellen Waymon was born in Russell Springs, Kentucky, on November 4th, 1926, and departed this life on Saturday, November 7th, 2020, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Zelma professed her faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. She attended Speck Ridge School in her early years of life. She worked at Fruit of the Loom for many years prior to moving to Louisville, Kentucky, where she retired from General Electric Manufacturing as a production worker.
She united in marriage to Harlin Miller Christie in 1943, who precedes her in death in 1954. She united in marriage to Robert Allen Russell, who also precedes her in death on January 16th, 2005.
Survived by four daughters and two sons: Beverly Irene Christie Kindrick of Louisville, Kentucky; Jane Christie Dunham of Cornelia, Georgia; Phyllis Joanne Christie Ross of Paducah, Kentucky; Patricia (Patti) Gail Christie Mays of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Robert Allen Russell, Jr. of Taylorsville, Kentucky; and Danny Ray Russell of Kingsland, Georgia.
Survived by eleven grandchildren: Gerald (Gerry) Dunham, Jr., Christy Ross Roberson, David Eric Ross, Cindy G. Dunham Haynes, Scott L. Dunham, Taylor Mays Barr, Sarah Russell Kiser, Kaelin Christine Russell Hyle, Candace Russell Mullen, Brian White, and Andrea White Bloodworth, along with many great and great-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Zelma was also preceded in death by one sister, Rosie Milsap and one grandchild, Angela Rae Brockman.
All services are private for family only. Walk through visitation is requested from 10am EST-12pm EST, Friday, November 13th, at Auberry Funeral Home and Cremation Services in downtown Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be 12pm EST, Friday, November 13th, at Auberry Funeral Home and Cremation Services in downtown Campbellsville. Bro. Terry Bright will be officiating the service for Mrs. Zelma Russell. Burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
