William David McMahan, 78, of Campbellsville died Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Campbellsville.
Born October 14, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Henry Graves McMahan and Mary Burress McMahan.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Hogards Chapel United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and received a honorable discharge. He and his brother, Eugene, went into business together in 1965 making cherry furniture, carrying on a family tradition for 50 years. He continued to make furniture until 2014.
He was married to Alice Dauphene Walker on August 22, 1964, survives.
Survivors also include a daughter, Dianne Bertram and her husband, Gary of Campbellsville; a grandson, Zach Bertram; a granddaughter, Macayla Bertram, both of Campbellsville; four brothers, James McMahan and Eugene McMahan and his wife Linda, of Campbellsville, Truman McMahan and his wife, Joyce of Louisville and Edgar McMahan and his wife, Lynn of North Carolina and four sisters, Mary Hedgespeth and her husband, Larry of Campbellsville, Faye Eggenberger and her husband, Howard of Minnesota, Anna Marie McMahan, of Greensburg and Bonnie Yeakey and her husband, Scott of North Carolina. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends survive.
The funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, Campbellsville. Due to the holiday, the burial with military honors will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 26th at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family request visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 23rd at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
