William Amburgey

William Garrett “Johnny” Amburgey of Shepherdsville, KY, formerly of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Balford Amburgey and Virginia Ritchie Amburgey, was born June 15, 1946 in Knott County, KY and departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY. He was 77 years of age.

He had been employed as a coal miner and in his free time he loved to hunt and fish. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife: Diane Ritchie Amburgey, Two sons: James Everett Amburgey and wife Ashley, and Johnny Wayne Amburgey all of Shepherdsville, KY. One grandson: Donovan Everett Amburgey.

There will be a funeral service for William Garrett “Johnny” Amburgey on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1 P.M. EST at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel, 1765 New Columbia Road in Campbellsville, KY with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Robby Everidge will officiate.

The family request visitation Friday, October 6, 2023 from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. EST at the funeral home.
