Frances Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Wilbur K. Smith and Myrtie Pearl Durham Smith, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, February 20, 1919. She died Friday, January 6, 2012 in Campbellsville. Age: 92
In 1933, she made a profession of faith and joined South Campbellsville Baptist Church and in early 1950, she became general secretary of Sunday School at the church.
After graduating from Campbellsville High School in 1937, she had one term of business training at Campbellsville College (now Campbellsville University).
She retired from Marcum Grocery Company in early 1960, after working there for 22 ½ years.
She was also a retired employee of Chappell's Dairy and Taylor Regional Hospital.
She is survived locally by two nephews and two nieces: beloved nephew, Huston "Sonny" Mardis, Ann Cox, Donna Long and David Smith of Campbellsville;
several other nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers: Margaret Acree, Elizabeth Mardis, Elsie Parson, Richard Smith, Huston Smith, Ben Smith, Ralph Smith and Albert Smith.
