Nina Hash Stiles
(1933 - 2013)
Nina Cathleen Hash Stiles, of Tempe, Arizona, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late McKinley Hash and Mayme Newton Hash, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 2, 1933. She died at 5:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Chandler, Arizona. Age: 80
She professed faith in Christ and was baptized at Buffalo Baptist Church in Kentucky October 18, 1946 and was currently attending Sun Valley Community Church in Tempe, Arizona.
She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1952, Campbellsville University, University of Kentucky (B.S.), the University of Connecticut (M.S.) and Arizona State University (ED.D.). She taught in public school systems in Michigan, Connecticut, and Arizona and worked as a Peace Corps teacher-trainer. She remained active hosting foreign students and contracted with the Agriculture Bank of Saudi Arabia for special training projects. She was very active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, both locally through the David Allen Chapter of the DAR and the National Association. She was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. She and her husband specialized in "Women In Development" and worked in Macedonia, Thailand and rural Kentucky.
She united in marriage to Dr. Philip Stiles July 7, 1956.
Besides her husband, Dr. Philip Stiles, she is survived by one daughter, Donna Gayle Pickens of Gilbert, Arizona; two granddaughters: Suncica Worth and husband, Cory of Ladera Ranch, California and Serena Coons and husband, Dan of Anchorage, Alaska; four great-grandchildren: Graham Coons, Lily Coons, Daylen Worth and Nixie Worth; two brothers and four sisters: Gowdy Hash and wife, Vienise, Louise Krznarich and husband, Fred of Buffalo, William Grant Hash and wife, Libby of Niceville, Florida, Mina Hedgespeth and husband, Charles of Campbellsville, Billie Salsman and Shirley Underwood and husband, Eugene of Hodgenville and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: J. T. Hash, Thomas Jefferson Hash, Maggie Bell and June Rose Hash.
