McIvor Newcomb

June 8, 1920 — February 28, 2010

McIvor Newcomb of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ray Howard "Dick" Parrish Sr. and Ruth Thomas Parrish, was born June 8, 1920 in Cumberland County, Kentucky. She died at 1:55 P.M., Sunday, February 28, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 89

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a veteran of World War II having served her country in the Army Nurse Corps. She was a registered nurse and was employed at Taylor County Hospital for some forty-four years.

She united in marriage to Nathan Newcomb February 18, 1950. He preceded her in death October 2, 1996.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Ray and Mandy Newcomb of Campbellsville; two step-daughters: Donna Stoess of Louisville and Mitzi Ann Durham of Seymour, Indiana; three granddaughters: Maureen Curtsinger and husband, Jamie of Springfield, Misty Grisso and husband, Josh of Campbellsville and Krystal Douglas and husband, Tony of Lebanon; eight great-grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua and Mary Katherine Curtsinger, Austin and Lexy Grisso, Trevor, Mercedie and Antonio Douglas; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dick Parrish Jr. and wife, Mary Lee of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law, Margaret Parrish of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother, Margaret Bragg June 12, 2002 and Billie Parrish January 11, 2002.
