Mrs. Lou Bell (York) Dyer Veatch, the daughter of the late Elmer and Iva (Morrison) York, was born January 16, 1938 in Cumberland County, KY and departed this life on Friday, January 17, 2020 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 82 years of age.
She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom having worked for over 34 years and retired from Taylor Regional Hospital after 20 year of service and was of the Baptist Faith.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always a lady, she took pride in doing laundry and ironing, making sure each garment was perfect before wearing it, and enjoyed passing those qualities to her family.
She is survived by a daughter: Patricia Dyer Bell and companion John Pelcher II of Campbellsville; a sister: Betty Jo Wheatley and husband Henry of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Jeffrey Dyer and wife Stephanie and John Pelcher III of Campbellsville; two great-grandchildren: Braydan and Wayne Dyer; two step-great grandchildren: Thomas and Benjamin McMahan; a special niece: Shannon Taylor of Campbellsville, special great-niece: Madison Ferrie of Campbellsville and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Donell, Odell, Roy and Jerry York.
The funeral service for Lou Belle Veatch will be conducted Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Ronnie Dooley will be officiating.
Family requests visitation of Monday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Timmy, Greg, Bubby, Stacy, Jeffrey, Stevie, and Donnie York, and Kyle Coffey.
