Larry Walters, age 73, of Milbys Lane, Campbellsville, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at his residence after an illness.
Larry was born January 26, 1943 in Taylor County to the late James Edward and Mattie Lou Pierce Walters. Besides his brother he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Walters. He was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church and had worked as a van driver for Taylor Regional Hospital for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Shofner Walters of Campbellsville, three daughters and their spouses, Mia and Kevin Milby, Tonya and Chris Gupton and Amanda Sprowles and her companion Ty Thompson all of Campbellsville. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive along with one brother and his wife, Eddie and Linda Walters and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Walters all of Campbellsville. One special cousin and his wife, Ray and Brenda Pierce of Pensacola, Florida also survive along with several other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Larry Walters will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rhonda Arnett and Bro. Mike Gribbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Troy Walters, Trent Walters, Jason Gabbert, Josh Gabbert, Rusty Shofner and Chris Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Zion Separate Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.
The family request visitation from 5 to 8 PM Friday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home and that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Central Kentucky and can be made at the funeral home.
