Josephine Smith

Mrs. Josephine Sharp Smith of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Artist Sharp and Lillie Simpson Sharp, was born on May 29, 1924 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Green County. She was 89 years, one month, and 24 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Grover F. Smith on August 31, 1940 who preceded her in death on December 20, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Sandy and C.W. Goff of Greensburg, and Mary Ann Parker of Campbellsville; two grandsons: Correy Goff and Tasha of Greensburg, and Joey Parker of Lexington; one great-grandson: Hayden Goff of Greensburg; two sisters: Opal Pendleton of Hodgenville and Lois Wright of Tennessee; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Johnny and Evelyn Smith of Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Mayme Ellis, Owen Sharp, Mae Milby, and Russell Sharp.

The funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Sharp Smith will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorials Gardens. C.W. Goff and Bro. Blake Jessie will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4:30 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
