James T. Givens
Mr. James T. Givens of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late James Grover Givens and Eunice Hayes Givens, was born on May 22, 1918 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. He was 94 years, five months, and 28 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church and was a lifelong farmer. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Army from 1941-1945.
Mr. Givens is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alma Mae Walker Givens having married on April 11, 1946.
Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Maurice Steve and Kathy Givens of Ashland; a grandson: Kyle Givens of Richmond; two step-grandchildren: T.G. Elliott and his wife Amanda, and Tina Legg and her husband Lenny all of Ashland; five step-great-grandchildren: Ivy Legg, Austin Legg, Gabe Legg, Caleb Elliott & Carter Elliott all of Ashland; a sister: Barbara Jean Shuffett and her husband Roy of Greensburg; a brother-in-law: Leonard Walker of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Barbara Givens of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Givens was also preceded in death by a sister: Margaret Coffey and her husband Shively, two brothers and a sister-in-law: Maurice and Dorothy Givens, and Buford Givens; two brothers-in-law: Finis Walker and Elbert Walker.

The funeral services for Mr. James T. Givens will be conducted at 12 Noon, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Bro. Todd Davis will be officiating.
Visitation is requested after 10 A.M., Wednesday until time of the funeral services.
