J.R. "Slick" Polston of Campbellsville, son of the late Herlan Polston Sr. and Dorothy Burris Polston, was born December 10, 1946, in Jamestown, Kentucky. He died at 12:40 A.M., Friday, September 12, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age: 67
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
He retired from Fruit of the Loom after 30 years of service.
He is survived by two daughters: Tammy Phillips and husband, Gary of Campbellsville, Tonja Polston and partner, Nancy Wallace of Lebanon; three grandchildren: Tyler Phillips and wife, Tracy of Campbellsville, Garrett Phillips of Bowling Green and Kendall Polston of Lebanon; two sisters: Katie Brockman and Patty Polston; one brother, Dwight Polston all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Brenda Lee Wolverton, Rena Melton, Martha Hoosier and Joyce Dicken.
