Elvin Durham Jr

Elvin E. Durham, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Elvin E. Durham and Artie Wall Durham Johnson, was born in Casey County, Kentucky, December 23, 1926. He died at 3:15 A.M., Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Campbellsville. Age: 84

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was employed with Kentucky Public Education, was a Vocational Agricultural Teacher for 12 years in Lincoln County, a principal at Hardin County School and retired as principal of Lancaster Elementary School. After retirement, he worked at Lindsey Wilson College and Western Kentucky University. He was an ordained Baptist deacon.

He united in marriage to Margaret Skaggs February 25, 1950.

Besides his wife, Margaret Durham, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Jeffrey Durham and wife, Peggy of Nicholasville and Lisa Rae Durham of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren: Benjamin Durham and wife, Chrisse of Versailles, Daniel Durham and wife, Kirstie of Buffalo, New York and Carrie Durham of Bowling Green; four great-grandchildren: Anikah Durham, Ayden Durham, Skyla Durham and Daniel Durham; two brothers and three sisters: Luada Smith and husband, Bennie, Curtis Durham and Jack D. Johnson and wife, Martese of Stanford, Maxine Delk, of Ludlow and Maria Duttera and husband, John of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Carlos Durham, Terrell Durham and Earl Durham.
