Cora Cowherd

Mrs. Cora Mae Fogle Cowherd of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jessie Edgar Fogle and Cleota Jones Fogle, was born on September 18, 1920 in Casey County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Monday, January 27, 2014 at her home in Greensburg. She was 93 years, four months, and nine days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Women's II Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker, a teacher, and was co-owner and operator of Cowherd Service Station alone side her husband.

Mrs. Cowherd united in marriage to James Ralph Cowherd on June 9, 1941 who preceded her in death on January 14, 2001.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: James Morris and Pat Cowherd of Greensburg; a daughter: Bettye MacFarland of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Christy and Stephen Almond of Texas, Russ Cowherd of Greensburg, Brooke Cowherd and Chad Dickinson of Tennessee; two great-grandchildren: Addy Wright of Columbia and Brady Dickinson of Tennessee; a special friend: Marie Lowe of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Cowherd was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Elizabeth Fogle and Christine Fogle.

The funeral services for Mrs. Cora Mae Fogle Cowherd will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Blake Jessie, Warren Wolfe, and Stephen Almond will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Baptist Church Building Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
