Chester Gordon VanDyke of Campbellsville, son of the late Chester VanDyke and Lottie Cox VanDyke, was born in Marion County, Kentucky, May 30, 1926. He died at 7:40 P.M., Sunday, October 23, 2011 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was a farmer, former owner and operator of VanDyke Oil Company and a layman pastor for Old Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over thirty-three years.
He united in marriage to Helen Netherland October 12, 1941.
Besides his wife, Helen VanDyke, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ike and Laurie VanDyke of Campbellsville; son-in-law, Quilley McDonald of Campbellsville; two grandsons: Gregory McDonald and wife, Shannon of Campbellsville and DeWayne McDonald and wife, Angela of Lebanon; six great-grandchildren: Jasmine McDonald, D. J. McDonald, Austin Adams and Erin McDonald of Campbellsville and Tyler McDonald and Madison McDonald of Lebanon; two sisters: Dorothy Barnett of Campbellsville and Louise White and husband, Harold of Rising Sun, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanell McDonald November 7, 2006 and a sister, Ruth VanDyke.
